Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) racking maximizes volumetric space efficiency by compressing standard operating aisles down to as little as five to six feet while retaining 100% direct pallet selectivity. This high-density configuration requires specialized wire-guided or rail-guided turret trucks and necessitates strict adherence to super-flat floor engineering tolerances to ensure safe, high-elevation material handling operations.
Selective pallet racking operates on a single-deep storage principle using vertical uprights and horizontal beams. Because pallets are stored only one unit deep, forklifts have 100% direct access to any specific pallet without moving surrounding inventory. This structural layout supports First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory management. While it requires multiple operational aisles, reducing overall floor space density, it provides maximum SKU accessibility and is easily serviced by standard counterbalanced or reach forklifts.
